About Us

The Isle of Wight Centre is one of 70 Centres that are listed in the Caravan Club Directory & Handbook. These are geographically based centres that are part of the Caravan Club. If you are a member of the Caravan Club you may join us on any Centre event and will be most welcome.

What do we do? We organise a programme of local weekend rallies throughout the year. Rallies are simply a gathering of Club members in which we pursue various pastimes and sports. Socials may be organised on some evenings with a disco or a live band. A dinner/dance is also planned once a year.

Although many of the sites we visit are commercial caravan parks, some of the sites are informal and do not have toilet facilities and electric hook ups. For this reason your own sanitation is required. Water and chemical disposal points are always provided.

We also have a very active junior section, so children are always welcome.
If you want to get more from your caravan, have a look at the rally programme and give it a try.

WHY NOT TRY A RALLY?

WHAT IS A RALLY

A rally is a gathering of Caravan Club Members, who enjoy weekends with friends, with a bit of fun and fellowship thrown in for good measure.

THE RALLY OFFICER

Is a friendly face to meet you when you arrive. They will have arranged the venue and any social activities for you.

WHAT TO DO

After you have booked your rally and the weekend arrives, just follow the directions in the rally book.

As you approach the rally site you will see the ‘IOWCC’ signs. They will lead you to the site entrance.

On arrival at the site, please stop at the Rally Office to let them know you have arrived, also please advise if this is your first rally.

Once you have booked in at the rally office, you will be handed an envelope that contains details of the weekend. You will then be guided to your pitch.

It is intended that the off side of your caravan is on the marker and your car is parked parallel to the caravan on its off side. You will also be shown where to get fresh water and where the Elsan disposal is.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

The rally may include a social or get together on the Saturday night; a family event may be a disco, dance or quiz night. The weekend usually includes competitions or games for young and old alike.

All these are entirely optional but are good fun.

FLAG POLE

This usually takes place at 2.00 pm on Sunday and is just a chance for everyone on the rally to get together with a cup of coffee or tea and hear the results of the competitions, welcome visitors and new ralliers, announce forthcoming events and rallies and thank the Rally Officers for the weekend.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

To go on a rally you need your own toilet facilities, which must never be taken near the fresh water tap. A ramp or blocks of wood to level your caravan if the pitch is sloping, and a leisure battery if electric hook-ups are not provided. On some sites you may need to take your dry waste home with you.
